Amy Diachenko Foster
Amy Diachenko Foster is a native of Yadkinville. She saw a lack of mental health services for children and families in the area surrounding her hometown and that coupled with a strong desire to serve her community she opened her own practice, Fostering Minds. Since Fostering Minds was founded in 2011 she has expanded the practice to a central location in Clemmons to allow families to conveniently access her services from Yadkin, Davie and Forsyth as well as other surrounding counties.
Amy began her career focusing on younger children and their families, and has enjoyed expanding her practice to include helping young adults transition through new life experiences. From the beginning, Amy has had an ease with bonding and developing good rapport with children quickly.
Amy received her undergraduate degree in Psychology and Interpersonal & Organization Communication Studies from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2003 and her Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from East Carolina University in 2006. She has formal training in Applied Behavior Analysis and Cognitive Behavior Therapy. Using evidenced-based treatment, Amy specializes in working with anxiety, depression and common behavior difficulties seen in childhood and adolescents, such as ADHD and Oppositional Defiant Disorder. Amy also enjoys working with individuals experiencing major life changes such as changing schools, moving or experiencing the divorce of parents. Amy values developing healthy relationships with the individuals she serves and combines many modalities in her sessions.
Amy is licensed by the NC Psychology Board as a Licensed Psychological Associate, licensed number 3555.
